How to use this card
- Save it before you travel. Download the whole pack from /rescue-cards/ and it works offline — no app, no data plan.
- Show the big Chinese line to whoever you are talking to. They read characters; the English at the bottom is for you.
- Say it out loud too if they hesitate. A spoken request gets a faster answer than a silent card, and repeating it removes all doubt.
- Read the English to understand the reply.
What they will likely say
- “可以,我帮你寄。” — Yes, I can send it for you.
- “这个不能寄,属于液体。” — This one cannot be shipped — it is a liquid.
- “运费大概一百块。” — The postage is about a hundred yuan.
- “要三天到一周。” — It takes three days to a week.
Pro tips
- 国际快递 (guójì kuàidì) like EMS or DHL is the realistic option for anything valuable. 普通邮政 (pǔtōng yóuzhèng) is cheaper and slower, and the tracking will go quiet for a week.
- Batteries, liquids, seeds, tea and cosmetics are all restricted or refused. 茶叶 (chá, tea) usually is — ask before you buy, not at the counter.
- Always get a receipt with the declared value. A customs claim without one is a claim you cannot make.
